Getting Started
{Design:}
{Navigation Links:}
Once I have your page titles (which I can take from the outline you've provided if you're not sure) I can design a menu of links to connect your pages. These can be as simple as a list of links on a solid background, like mine to the right of this page, or we can add features to dress them up. We'll need to assign them a different color than your page text and make decisions about how they'll behave when a visitor's mouse passes over them. Below are some options for you to consider, linked to the actual websites so you can see how they work live.
A box button with background color for each link.
A sidebar with its own background image (as above), or transparency to let the page background show through (below).
Your logo or other image reduced to make a custom bullet to the left of each link, as above and below.
Want your bullet to appear when a person's cursor passes over it and/or change color? Click the link below and check out seasidewomen.org's horizontal navigation menu, just beneath their header...while you're there, notice that the same image has been used to create an icon that shows to the left of their url in the address bar of the browser.
![]()
This icon will also show to the left of your page title when a visitor saves your site in their Favorites/Bookmarks list:
